Philadelphia City Council voted unanimously on Dec. 10, 2009, to pass Bill No. 080025, which calls for new construction and major renovation of large City government buildings to be designed, constructed, and certified at the LEED-silver level.

On September 29, 2011, the Appraisal Institute,  the country’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers, released the Residential Green and Energy Efficient Addendum to help value energy efficiency and other green features in homes.
