IREC announces its 17th annual search for innovative renewable energy projects and programs

Deadline to submit applications is July 16th; do it today!

Each year, the Interstate Renewable Energy Council recognizes individuals and organizations that have implemented innovative projects during the past year that promote and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy technologies. Each project, in the judgment of IREC and independent judges, has demonstrated a measurable positive impact that is replicable and innovative.

For 2010, IREC will present awards in the following six categories:
·         Small wind
·         Clean energy workforce development
·         Community renewables
·         Clean energy financial incentives
·         Clean energy regulatory policies
·         Clean energy ARRA projects
Eligible programs or activities include education, energy policy, legislation, regulatory actions, demonstration projects, research and development, or financial incentives. Projects must have been completed during 2009.

The awards will be made in conjunction with the IREC Annual Meeting to be held in Los Angeles, California on Monday, October 11, 2010. Winners will be notified prior to the event.
Award recipients will be recognized during IREC's annual meeting and will receive a commemorative plaque recognizing their achievement. The winning entries will also be posted on the IREC website, featured in a national press release and listed in a brochure to be distributed to all attendees at the annual meeting.
