Program Development Manager

Reports to: Director of Programs
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides support (along with the Program Director) to the program planning committees and shares
responsibility for the overall management of ACI events and opportunities.
2. Handles all administrative components relative to preparation of conference and training events.
3. Manage assigned projects from beginning to end to include, but not limited to: defining project scope, goals
and deliverables that support ACI goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
4. Oversees all aspects of abstract submission process including dissemination of Call for Abstracts to
marketing channels, review and evaluation of submission process, issuing necessary reports and final
output of data.
5. Serves as primary liaison with all presenters and conference committees. Responds to inquiries and
disseminates all relevant correspondence
6. Assembles all copy for the program department coordinating with staff on the review and proofing of the final
documents.
7. Directs the awards and recognition programs in conjunction with the national conference; communicates
logistical details and arrangements with all specially invited speakers.
8. Responsible for coordinating the national conference poster sessions, in conjunction with the Program
Director.
9. Assists the Program Director in the management of the pre-conference workshops and in-field sessions
offered in conjunction with the national conference.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
•Proficiency in computer related skills: Microsoft Office Professional – all programs, internet and electronic
communications.
•Excellent business and interpersonal communications skills.
•A clear, engaging, and organized writing style; ability to write for a variety of reader levels.
•Exceptional organization and time management skills including multi-tasking and the ability to set/adapt to
changing priorities.
•Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents that make complex topics, data, and analysis
understandable to a variety of audiences
•Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, other departments, staff, and
external audiences.
•Commitment to the overall sustainability of ACI and its mission.
•Must be willing to do travel for the annual conference, the retreat, or regional events, as needed [25%]
•Excellent customer service skills.
•Professional appearance and manner.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Minimum three years professional, related work experience.
•Must have Microsoft Office Professional experience and capability.
•Mastery of standard office software and technology (hardware and software).
•Broad technical knowledge of home performance and weatherization, including building science concepts,
technical measures, health and safety, policy issues, energy costs and cost-effectiveness, and diagnostics
as these issues apply to residential retrofit, remodeling and new construction.
•Knowledge and understanding of ACI’s key target audiences, and their strategic organizational and
individual leaders.
COMPENSATION
Salary range dependent on experience. ACI offers a competitive benefits package including health coverage, 401K,
and paid time off for vacation, holidays and sick leave.
