PPL Electric programs

In accordance with Act 129, PPL Electric Utilities has created an energy efficiency and conservation plan offering residential, small business, commercial and industrial, and institutions energy efficiency programs, tools, incentives and rebates.

For Residents, the PPL offers appliance rebates, appliance recycling, heating and cooling equipment rebates, discounted home energy assessments and weatherization, and rebates on CFLs. In addition, the PPL offers a direct load control program, which provides a control device on heat pumps and central air conditioning systems for free that automatically cycles on and off during peak 2010 summer months. Participants who keep the control device active for the entire period get paid an incentive. For New homes, The Energy Stars New Homes program gives participants financial incentives for building energy-efficient homes. Participants get help offsetting the higher initial cost of building homes that are tested to ensure thermal integrity and energy-efficient heating, air conditioning and appliances. Low-income residents can qualify for the WRAP or Winter Relief Assistance Program which offers energy evaulations and weatherization at no cost. More information on residential programs can be found here.

Business customers can also participate in the direct load control program, appliance recycling and appliance rebates. In addition, businesses can receive lighting rebates, HCAV tune-ups, motor rebates, HVAC rebates, insulation rebates, and other incentives. A list of these items and descriptions on each program can be found here. For commerical and industrial users information on rebate and incentive programs can be found here and institutions can find more information here.

The Custom Incentive Program provides financial incentives to customers interested in installing individual measures or systems not covered by other PPL Electric Utilities energy efficiency programs. The Custom Incentive Program offers funding for extensive energy efficiency projects, retro-commissioning and equipment optimization that result in cost-effective, measurable electrical energy savings.
