FirstEnergy Programs (Met-Ed, Pennelec, and Penn Power)

Met-Ed, Penelec and Penn Power under the FirstEnergy Corporation offer both residential and business programs focused on energy savings.

For residential customers interested in increasing energy efficiency FirstEnergy provides an online home energy analyzer. In addition, an appliance rebate program, appliance turn-in program, CFL lightbulb discounts, and a rebate program for tuning-up an existing HVAC system or replacing a low-efficiency HVAC system with a high-efficiency system.  For  low-income customers, FirstEnergy created the WARM program. Participants work with a trained energy educator, receive an in-home energy evaluation and have the opportunity to receive energy-saving home improvements.

For businesses, FirstEnergy offers two lighting programs which provide incentives for businesses which install high-efficiency lighting fixtures and controls. FirstEnergy also offers an HVAC program for non-residential customers installing high-efficiency heating and air conditioning systems and efficient motors and variable speed drives. To support the program, audit and technical assessment programs identify opportunities for increasing energy efficiency.  For information on these programs click here.
