Highlights of KEEA 2007-2008 Activities

Since the initial efforts of a few partners in the summer of 2007, KEEA has grown from a core group of people who met with key legislators and administration staff to now represent some of the leaders in energy efficiency services and programs. A lot has been accomplished in the past year, including:

• Prepared and circulated the KEEA Energy Action Agenda for Pennsylvania
• Developed legislation and amendments on energy efficiency and solar, based on the Energy Action Agenda
• Held Energy Action Legislative Day and Press Conference - Oct. 15, 2007
• Held several lobby days for our members and meetings with over 50 legislators
• Only alliance of energy efficiency businesses to be asked to testify before the Senate Consumer Affairs and Professional Licensure committee.
• Filed testimony before other legislative committees, and the Public Utility Commission (PUC).
• Circulated letters of support for currently pending legislation
• Participated in PUC working group on energy education
• Promoted energy efficiency and recruited new partners at public events
• Held regular conference calls to strategize on next steps
• Expanded KEEA from core of 15 partners to over 60 groups
• Informed KEEA partners about relevant programs and events
• Maintained a presence before legislative and regulatory state agencies advocating for strong energy efficiency and solar policies
